Mosgiel 4-2 win over Wanaka, the Plainsmen took an early lead when Kasim Ali struck a thunderous volley from 35 yards that  cannonned off the woodwork giving goal keeper Aaron Molloy no chance. Despite playing into a strong head wind Wanaka were playing structured football with Fletch Cavangh and Adam Hewson threatening with direct and skilful runs.

Mosgiels Matt Kelly thought he'd doubled the lead when  he followed up Lewis Walls shot that was parried away by Molloy but it was ruled out for offside. Mosgiel got its 2nd soon after in the 23rd minute when Cam Anderson was fouled in the box and Anderson stepped up and sent Malloy the wrong way.

Wanaka continued to play  and were rewarded on 30 minutes  when  Steve Pleskun scored with a left foot strike after a move  starting from their own goal box encompassing seven passes.

Wanaka then dominated the next 15 mins leading  into half time but didnt take the opportunities as Everton Rossi,  Pleskun and  Hewson all had shots on goal that couldnt beat Liam Wittaker in goals.

With the interval fast approaching a jinking run down the bye line from Mosgiels Seb Hickman put him in position to deliver a square ball across the box allowing Anderson a simple tap in. Early in the 2nd  half  Anderson thought he'd got his hat trick but the goal was ruled out for off side.

Wanakas full back Levi Fletcher was getting forward at every opportunity and and linking well with Barry Grehan and this presented long range shooting chances to both Hewson and Pleskun which forced Whittaker into action.

With 20 minutes left  a hand ball on the edge of the penalty box  gave Mosgiel a free kick and Kasim Ali struck a very powerful left footed shot past Molloy into the bottom corner to make it 4-1. Molloy then just minutes later pulled of a fine one on one save to deny Anderson.

Wanaka continued to attack and got  their  2nd  goal when Levi Fletcher won the ball and drove inside from the right and delivered a cross shot which was neatly steered into  the Mosgiel goal by the  lively Pleskun to make it 4-2 in the 82nd minute.

With Mosgiel defending their lead Wanaka mounted late attacks  looking for a third goal however the shots and crosses -not helped by the strong wind - were just off target.

University 6-1 Green Island

After winning the league last week Green Island surrendered their 100% record  with the students in rampant form running away with a 6-1 victory.

Colin Fagan opened the scoring on 21 minutes and skipper Tim OFarrell doubling the lead on the half hour. Green Island pulled one back immediately through Matt Brazier.
A 4 goal blitz in 16 minutes mid way through the second half saw University at their dazzling best with  a Dom Scahill brace the first coming on 59 minutes, then Fagan again in the 67th,  Scahills 2nd 3 minutes later and Ben Stanley completed the scoring in the 76th minute.

Caversham 4-3 Roslyn.

Caversham dominated the first half then withstood a furious Roslyn-Wakari fightback to cling on for a 4-3 win at Hancock Park.  Captain Jared Grove scored the opening goal for Caversham on 12 minutes and  Connor Neil nearly made it 2-0 after he got onto the end of a cross unchallenged but put his shot wide. Against the run of play, Nathan Wilkie equalised from the penalty spot with 24 minutes played  after keeper  Sean Van Dyk  made contact with Yunny Chang Sung and referee Jack Cowie pointed to the spot.

The home side then appeared to take complete control of the game by scoring three goals in the space of six minutes.

Between the 31st and 37th minute Raven August, Ben Kiore and Olivier Cassidy all found the net to give Caversham a 4-1 lead at halftime - with Kiore  on one with Jak Stevenson, his shot looped  up off Stevenson and  and over the stranded Tom Stevens.

Roslyn came out with more intent in the second half and it paid dividends with 21minutes left when  Tennesse Kinghorn   drove his shot low and hard from the left into the back of the net at the near post. Cavetsham  had a couple of chances but were unable to capitalise with Connor Neil being called offside and Ben Kiore hitting the post.

Luke Clissold made it 4-3 with 4 minutes left  after some sustained pressure from set pieces where the ball fell to him at the edge of the box and his powerful shot was well placed into the far back corner.  Roslyn were denied a share of the points when Van Dyk pulled off a good save in the dying moments.

Queenstown 4-1 Dunedin Tech

In a first half lacking much  intensity Tech threaten Queenstown with a couple of shots that keeper Daniel Bocatios saves well and   Queenstown then score the only goal in the first half with a bullet header from Chris Baines from a corner on 30 minutes giving Alex Boomer no chance.

The second half sees Queenstown have more energy and possession and double their lead  soon after the restart when Thomas Mills back heels to the on rushing Willem Ebbinge who duly smashes the ball past the keeper in the 48th minute

Tech reply 2 minutes later when Rhys Quarrell  makes a neat run behind the defence  and a coolly finishes to make it 2-1.  Finley Husheer comes on in the 67th minute and he gets on the scoresheet in the 78th minute when  corner to the back post  is nodded back across goal by Jack Niven and Husheer  unchallenged  heads home unchallenged.

Techs keeper Boomer then  pulls off a fantastic save  from Ebbinges' free kick but he was helpless moments later when in the dying moments Ebbinge dispossess  Techs centre back and finishes with a cool slide rule pass into the bottom corner . Final score Queenstown 4 Tech 1.
